History of United Tribes And Fort Lincoln
The campus of United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) is immediately south of the municipal airport at Bismarck, North Dakota. The site is a former military post transformed by the tribes of North Dakota for the purpose of educating and training American Indian students and their families for their economic, social and cultural advancement.
UTTC offers its programs and training on the college’s 230 acre campus along Bismarck’s University Drive, and online through distance education programs. While American Indian students make up the majority of the student body, students of all racial and ethnic backgrounds are welcomed for enrollment and instruction in this culturally diverse setting.
UTTC is recognized as one of the premier tribal colleges in the nation. It provides academic, career and technical education programs and training opportunities, and a full array of college activities, including intercollegiate athletics and wrap-around student support services, all in a close-knit campus/community setting.
Students choose to come here from tribes throughout the region and around the country. By attending and graduating, tens of thousands have been empowered to make a difference in their tribal communities and communities across America.
