Position Title: Intake/Activities Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide professional customer service. Develops, coordinates and implements activities for students/clients and also completes the intakes and assessments for students/clients. Is the facilitator for all support meetings for the Chemical Health Center. Performs all of the following duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the supervision of the Chemical Health Center Director, performs all of the following duties:
  1. Advise the CHC Director in short and long-term planning, in support of the Chemical Health Centerís Strategic Plan.
  2. Remain current and adhere to legal requirements that affect students in higher education, i.e. FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, and the Addiction Code of Ethics, and all governing guidelines related to the UTTC community.
  3. Develops, coordinate and implement activities for the Chemical Health Center.
  4. Participate with the trainee status requirements of Indian Health Service.
  5. Schedules, completes the intakes and assessments for clients/students and refers to appropriate counselors.
  6. Delivers all notices to clients/students for staffings.
  7. Completes all staffings with appropriate paperwork.
  8. Documents and completes all required reports for the Chemical Health Center activities.
  9. Coordinates all activities for the UTTC community activities that the Chemical Health Center sponsors.
  10. Facilitates the Chemical Health Center sponsored AA meetings and other related support groups.
  11. Attends all Violation Committee meetings representing the Chemical Health Center and reporting back to the Chemical Health Center Director.
  12. Coordinates and maintains informational booth/table for various UTTC campus activities.
  13. Required to attend all trainings as specified by the Chemical Health Center Director.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

None.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office conditions. Normal working hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch. Will be required to be on call some evenings and weekends. Will need to be able to travel to various workshops and conferences with overnight stays for training.

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Will need to be able to walk up and down stars, bend, stoop and lift in the course of duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: AA or AAS in behavioral sciences or a closely related field. Must be able to be certified for Indian Health Service certification. Must have an open mind in the approach to chemical dependency. Knowledge of the AA program and other related support groups.

Other Requirements: Must have five (5) years of continuous sobriety/being clean, if a recovering alcoholic or drug user. Ability to communicate effectively, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of computer skills for Accu-Care system. Must have a valid North Dakota driverís license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: BS/BA in behavioral sciences or a closely related field. Must be able to be certified for Indian Health Service certification. Must have an open mind in the approach to chemical dependency. Knowledge of the AA program and other related support groups.

Preference will be given to bona fide American Indian applicants in accordance with UTTC policies and Federal Indian regulations for such preference.
