Position Title: Switchboard Operator

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This position is the first impression with those that call into this campus. The successful candidate must be committed to helping every person, internally and externally that call in, to help them reach their intended party. This position is located in the front office of the administration building of the President’s office.

To thrive in this role, the employee must possess exceptional communication skills and be able to work well with others. Must be self- motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. Strict confidentially must be maintained in all matters pertaining to the work within this office. All employees are expected to bring a positive attitude to the work place, be cheerful, cooperative and productive.

  1. Answers all incoming phone calls with a positive attitude and routes them to the appropriate office or person. Will need to follow proper phone etiquette for a great customer service experience.
  2. Assist with greeting all visitors, students and staff that enter this office with a strong focus on customer service and providing a positive experience at UTTC.
  3. Maintains an accurate phone list/directory.
  4. Assists administrative coordinator when needed and as assigned.
  5. Use standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, and copier. Must be able to type, scan, complete and distribute documents related to position.
  6. Assist with opening and closing the office.
  7. Keep supervisor well informed of activities, problems and efforts to resolve.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the areas of the duties listed above. Must have basic knowledge of MS office. Professional telephone etiquette, detail orientated and excellent communication skills. Team player but also able to work independently.
