Andre Clark Recognized by NJCAA
July 8 2014

BISMARCK (UTN) – Thunderbird men’s basketball player Andre Clark from Harlem, NY, was honored in June by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with a Superior Academic Achievement Award.

The NJCAA acknowledges three levels for Academic Student-Athlete Awards: Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence (4.00 GPA); Superior Academic Achievement (3.80 – 3.99 GPA); and Exemplary Academic Achievement (3.60 – 3.79 GPA).

Clark was a standout both on and off the court in his two years at United Tribes Technical College.

The sophomore guard capped his two-year career by being named to the All-Conference and All-Region teams for his 2013-14 season play.

“We’re very proud of Andre’s accomplishments,” said UTTC Athletic Director Hunter Berg. “He’s a true reflection of what colleges are looking for when they talk about student-athletes.  Andre has a bright future ahead of him and we wish him the best as he continues his academic and athletic career.”

The two-year UTTC letter-winner was named the 2013-14 “Most Valuable Thunderbird” by the team at the college’s student awards ceremony May 8. Clark was also honored as a co-recipient of the United Tribes Men’s Student Academic Award.
