UTTC to host sobriety walk

BISMARCK (UTN) – United Tribes Technical College invites the campus community and public to join a sobriety walk scheduled for Thursday, September 21 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the college’s Skill Center building. The event will highlight the value of family and community throughout recovery during National Recovery Month in September.

“Everyone’s sobriety impacts a community. Whether that community be a school, neighborhood or family,” says Anita Monek, UTTC Chemical Health Center coordinator.

The walk takes place on the college campus. It ends at the UTTC cafeteria where a meal will be hosted by UTTC for all participants.

The importance of community and family is emphasized in the 2017 Recovery Month theme: “Join the Voices of Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities.” Individuals in recovery and their family members are invited to share personal stories and successes to encourage others.
