Position: Assistant Manager

Reports Directly To: Cozy Creek Cafe Manager

Status: Non-exempt; Full-time

Salary: $14.00 per hour

Summary Of Duties:

  • Assist the Store Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers
  • Coordinate daily customer service operations (e.g. sales processes, orders and payments)
  • Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
  • Monitor and maintain store inventory
  • Help evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
  • Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
  • Coach and support new and existing Sales Associates
  • Communicate with clients and evaluate their needs
  • Handle complaints from customers
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the store is functional and presentable
  • Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
  • Act as our store’s representative and set an example for our staff.
  • Assist Manager in training staff on various kitchen equipment and café menu
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation to health department specifications
  • Assist is the daily preparation of food items and cooking orders

Supervisory Responsibilities: Sales Associate

Working Conditions:

  • Various shifts Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 9.p.m and weekends.
  • Shift work is work that takes place on a schedule outside the normal working hours of Monday to Friday from 8 am – 5 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch. Shifts may include early morning, late morning, evening, night shifts, and rotating shifts.  Additional hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to go up and down stairs
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Other certification (e.g. Hospitality management or Business Admin.) a plus but not required

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar position
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
  • Good math skills
  • Leadership and organizational abilities
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Flexibility to work in shifts
