Alexa Azure (Standing Rock)
The November 2019 UTTC “Alum in the Spotlight” is Alexa Azure (Standing Rock). Alexa graduated from UTTC in 2007 with dual majors in Tribal Environmental Science and Art/Art Marketing. She then attended the University of North Dakota (UND), graduating with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering and Math minor. She earned her MS degree in Environmental Science in 2015 and is currently pursuing her PhD in Environmental Engineering at UND.
Alexa is the Pre-Engineering instructor, General Ed Chair, and AISES advisor at UTTC and is known for her commitment to students. Her advice to students: “Don’t procrastinate, get to know your instructors, take advantage of the resources you have available, and be reliable. Don’t give up! Nothing worthwhile comes easy.”
