Tuition Waivers

Native American Tuition Waiver

Great news! As of 2022, there is NO application for this waiver, and there is NO deadline. Eligible students will have the waiver applied to their financial aid awards after the census date of each semester.

Eligibility:

  • Enrolled in a federally recognized tribe
  • Full and Part-time, degree-seeking students
  • GPA of 2.0 or greater on most recent college transcript
  • Not on SAP warning or suspension with Financial Aid

Full-time students will have their tuition waived at the amount of $1,800 per semester for certificate through associated programs, or $3,120 per semester for bachelor programs.

Part-time students taking 6 to 11 credits per semester will be awarded $900 per semester regardless of being in an associate or bachelor program.

Each eligible student can receive the NATW to earn one certificate program, one diploma program, one associate degree program and one bachelor’s degree program. If a student chooses to pursue an additional certificate, diploma or degree (ex. a second associates degree), the NATW does not apply.

The Native American Tuition Waiver does not apply to UTTC employees who are students. Employees are eligible for the employee tuition waiver program.

Tuition Waiver for Employees

Full-time employees may attend classes at UTTC tuition free. An employee’s spouse or children living in the household are also eligible to attend tuition free.

See section 6-11 of the Employee Handbook for more information about the Employee Tuition Waiver.

Ready to get started? The UTTC Employee Tuition Waiver Form can be filled out on a computer. After you fill it out, print the form to sign it.

Finally, get the form to Financial Aid. You can drop it off at our office, use the secure file drop, or email it. Find our address and links at the bottom of this page.

ND State Tuition Assistance

Are you a resident of North Dakota? Are you studying for your first undergraduate degree? You may qualify to receive the North Dakota State Grant!

This grant is needs-based, meaning you MUST complete a FAFSA to find out if you are eligible for this award. Since it’s a grant, this is award money that does not need to be repaid.

Not sure if you qualify? Find eligibility information at NDUS – Paying for College.
