Position Title: TJES Custodian/Bus Driver FT/PT-Closes May 1, 2025 at 5:00 pm

Reports Directly to: TJES Principal
Status: Non-exempt; Full-time
Salary: $19.25
Summary of Duties:
- Maintain annual MAXIMO certification to stay compliant with BIE requirements.
- Identify, submit, and track all work orders through UTTC and input in MAXIMO.
- Attend monthly Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) building safety and maintenance Meetings.
- Monitor abatement plan, support UTTC facilities department with TJES repairs.
- Monitor and maintain TJES operations and maintenance budget.
- Maintain full inventory of supplies; responsible for submitting supply orders.
- Performs a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of all TJES buildings.
- Maintain cleanliness, such as sweep, vacuum, shampoo, mop, wax, buff, strip, and polish the floors.
- Clean, disinfect and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals, and floors.
- Empty, clean, disinfect, and sanitize waste baskets on a daily, weekly, or monthly checklist of work performed.
- Move furniture in/out and to/from units/storage.
- Conduct all grounds keeping activities such as mowing grass, trimming hedges, raking leaves, and removing snow.
- Address safety issues to the Principal.
- Assist in bus driving duties, as needed.
- Must work a minimum of eight (8) hours during Pow wow weekend.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday from 8 am – 5 pm with a one-hour unpaid
- Shift work may take place on a schedule outside the normal working hours of 8:00-5:00
- Shifts may be early morning, late morning, or evenings.
- Additional hours may be required.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift
- Must be able to climb
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of
- Must be able to work long periods in inclement weather.
- Must be able to run snow moving equipment,
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, associates or trade certification
- Three (3) years of custodial work experience recommended.
- Must have a valid ND Commercial Driver’s License and be insurable under UTTC’s insurance carrier. A copy needs to be submitted with the application
Knowledge & Skills:
- Frequently makes decisions of average difficulty regarding maintenance of school buildings and
- Knowledge of logistical and facilities management
- Knowledge of Bureau of Indian Education/Bureau of Indian Affairs,
- Must be reliable.
