Position Title: Part-Time, On-Call Security Officer

Department: Safety & Security Department

Reports Directly to: Safety & Security Director

Status: Non-exempt; Part-time/On call

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Summary of Duties:

  • The Part Time On-Call Security Officer must be committed to being called upon for an assignment to work when requested by notice.
  • Officer will complete vehicle and foot patrol duties on campus and campus properties.
  • Investigates and responds to any civil disturbances; potential illegal activities; suspicious circumstances, and reports to supervisor and local law enforcement.
  • Officers are expected to present a clean, neat and professional appearance.
  • Officer will complete a shift patrol log and incident reports by the end of each shift.
  • Answers incoming calls and directs them to appropriate individual or department afterhours and weekends.
  • Locks and Unlocks designated buildings and gates as requested and as scheduled.
  • Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what action(s) to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
  • Must be able to multi-task calls, radio activity, persons, and incidents.
  • Shall keep confidentiality for all incidents involving students, staff and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:None

Working Conditions:

  • Requires working evenings, holidays, and weekends on a rotating basis and are subject being called in for shift coverage.
  • A minimum 30-minute paid meal period is provided in shifts exceeding five hours. When there is only one security officer on duty, the security officer is not completely relieved of their duties and may be required to perform their duties during the meal period.

Summary of Duties:

  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the Human Resources office.
  • Greets visitors and answer telephone calls in a pleasant and efficient manner, communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters.
  • Creates files, posts, and advertises all open positions in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining all applications for open positions, from acceptance to hiring.
  • Coordinates communication with supervisors and candidates to schedule interviews and sits in on interviews.

  • Responsible for scheduling new hire orientation including pre-employment drug testing.

Summary of Duties:

  • Instructs students based upon the master course schedule, degree plans, and curricula approved by the Curriculum Committee and the Vice President of Academic Affairs for the respective program.
  • Teach a minimum of thirty (30) credits per academic year (fall/spring).
  • Designs, develops, and provides instruction to students through various delivery methods, including classroom/laboratory instruction, online learning, and learning community activities.
  • Adheres to the course cancellation policy as stated in the UTTC Faculty Handbook.
  • Develops culturally responsive curricula, lesson plans and other postsecondary coursework materials that identify student competencies and meet industry employment standards.
  • Updates and uploads course syllabi on a semester basis to WIDS.
  • Monitors and reports student attendance and academic progress in the Jenzabar system on a weekly basis throughout the semester, as well as using Early Alert interventions that ensure student success.

  • Maintains, repairs, and operates vehicles (e.g., trucks, tractor, maintenance vehicles, man lifts, and golf carts), heavy machinery, and equipment (e.g., chainsaws, weed eaters, mowers, blowers, power tools, pruners, pole saws). Performs routine equipment and shop maintenance.
  • Performs tasks of mowing grass, tree trimming, fertilizing, weed eating, landscaping, pesticide applications, irrigation repairs, plant, fertilize, spray, water, prune, propagate and cultivate grasses, flowers, bushes, trees, and other plants and Installs landscaping and related items on campus grounds. Seed and fertilize as needed.
  • Ensures campus is neat and attractive in appearance at all times.
  • Performs snow removal by operating heavy and light equipment (i.e., skid steers, front end loaders, sweepers, brooms, shovels, and dump trucks, ).
  • Keep sidewalks and steps clear of snow and ice.
  • Blow and sweep sidewalks, stairs, porches, and parking lots weekly if not daily.

Position Title: Maintenance Custodian Supervisor

Salary: $48,000-$58,715

Summary of Duties:

The Custodian Supervisor is responsible for performing planned custodial services to all UTTC Campus facilities and building including but not limited to the following:

  • Conducts performance evaluations on all employees supervised.
  • Maintains custodial crew to maintain and supply the tenants of all building on a daily basis.
  • Interviews and choose hiring employees.
  • Ensures that all employees are operating in a safe manner and get them the proper safety gear when needed.
  • Ensures compliance with accessibility, health, and safety codes.
  • Schedules and coordinates event setups and cleanups.
  • Performs a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Clean, disinfect and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms.
  • Wash accessible windows, mirrors and walls.
  • Empty, clean, disinfect and sanitize waste receptacles.
  • May submit a daily, weekly or monthly checklist of work performed in buildings.
  • Pick up paper, litter or other debris.
  • Replace light bulbs where applicable.
  • Dust, wipe and polish furniture as needed.
  • Remove snow from sidewalks and entryways using snow shovels or blower. Spread ice melting chemicals.
  • Requests supplies or materials for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensures availability of items required.
  • Must work a minimum of eight (8) hours during Powwow weekend.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal work hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 Additional hours may be required to complete projects or in case of emergencies.
  • Subject to working in hot or cold temperatures.
  • Shift work is work that takes place on a schedule outside normal working hours of Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with one hour of unpaid lunch and one 20-minute break.
  • Shifts may be early morning, late morning, evening, night shifts, and rotating shifts.
  • Additional hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder where applicable.
  • Must be able to stand or bend for hours at a time.

Minimum Qualificationss:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the Janitorial Services.
  • Ability to operate and use Janitorial tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the qualities and uses of various cleaning, sanitizing, stripping, and waxing compounds.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must have a valid North Dakota Driver’s License.

Position Title: Information Technology (IT) Technician

Salary: $15.00-$19.57

Summary of Duties:

  • Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems for UTTC employees.
  • Provides individual instruction or training to users on new or updated technologies.
  • Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties.
  • Maintains and updates record keeping system; may document projects and maintain user instructions.
  • Maintain campus Licensing system by working with vendors to effectively purchase licensing to reduce costs.
  • Knowledge in Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, hardware, and helpdesk ticketing software and processes.
  • Assists with tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials; performs data entry and maintenance of records such as, but not limited to, project documents, user instructions, and general reports and/or systems errors.
  • Disconnect, move, reconnect, and test computers/equipment reassigned to new locations.
  • Unpack, connect and test new computers, printers, drives and other peripherals.
  • Maintain a replacement tracking system for desktop computers for staff and faculty.
  • Assists with the review, evaluation and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates.
  • Assists with research and development initiatives and in the implementation of new technologies.
  • Assists with the implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact.
  • Assists with the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, workstations and/or other related equipment and devices.
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards and/or systems.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

General office conditions. Normal working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch break. May need to work additional hours for special events, meeting/presentations or travel as needed.
