Position Title: Online Learning Director -Closes January 3,2025 at 5:00pm

Status: Exempt; Full-time
Salary: $60,000
Summary of Duties:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of online courses and programs.
- Ensure online courses meet academic standards, are aligned with accreditation requirements (NC-SARA) and adhere to best practices in online education.
- Serve as co-administrator for WIDS with the instructional design consultant.
- Oversee online course quality assurance and effectiveness using an approval process for new online courses/programs and scheduled review of existing courses that are updated as needed.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities for faculty teaching online courses.
- Support faculty in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality online instruction.
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the online learning environment.
- Monitor and analyze student performance and feedback to continuously improve online learning experiences.
- Serve on the Retention Management Team to monitor the Early Alert System and provide feedback to department chairs on their department personnel usage of alerts.
- Collaborate with department chairs and other relevant UTTC staff to ensure academic advising and technical support are provided, including the creation of an electronic “student lounge” with resources for online students.
- Oversee maintenance of up-to-date information about the online courses/programs in all college print and electronic media, including the College’s website, catalog, brochures and social media.
- Ensure that online learning platforms are accessible, secure, and user-friendly for both students and faculty.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to online learning for accreditation and institutional review.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the Assessment of Student Learning and Curriculum committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
- General office conditions.
- Normal working hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- One-hour lunch break.
- Position requires occasional travel that includes weekends.
Physical Demands:
- Move about inside an office and classroom.
- Operate a computer and other office/classroom equipment.
- Occasionally move, transport, or position up to 20 pounds.
- May need to ascend/descend stairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in education from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in online education and online teaching methodologies and technologies.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Instructional design and online teaching methodologies and technologies.
- Learner management systems.
- Student outreach services.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
