Position Title: Maintenance Labor - Closes February 14, 2025 at 5:00 pm

Department: Facilities

Reports Directly to: Maintenance Construction Supervisor

Status: Non-exempt; Full-time

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Summary of Duties:

The Maintenance Laborer is responsible for assisting all Facilities personnel during construction and general maintenance including but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with all phases of construction projects.
  • Assist with campus clean up.
  • Assist with painting.
  • Assist with grounds keeping.
  • Assist with snow removal.
  • Follows the proper UTTC procurement policies and procedures.
  • Communicating with others to ensure projects are completed to satisfaction.
  • Light general maintenance duties are not limited to replacing light bulbs and other light electrical tasks, plugged drains, appliance repair, and light carpentry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which includes a minimum of 8 hours for Special Events.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work is work that takes place on a schedule outside the normal working hours of Monday to Friday from 8 am – 5 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
  • Shifts may be early morning, late morning, evening, night shifts, and rotating shifts.
  • Additional hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder where applicable.
  • Must be able to stand bend or kneel for hours at a time.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 30 ft.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must maintain a current OSHA 10 card.
  • Must have a valid ND Driver’s License and be insurable under UTTC’s insurance carrier.
