Position Title: Human Resources Specialist- Apprentice- Closes April 30, 2025 at 5:00 PM

Status: Non-exempt; Part-time
Salary: $14.00
Summary of Duties:
• Understand and apply human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
• Acquire knowledge of the hiring process and hiring-related paperwork.
• Assist to recruit, screen, interview, or place individuals within an organization.
• Assist leadership in addressing employee relations issues.
• Maintain and update HR documents.
• Conduct background research and provide information, and/or confer with management on business strategies, practices, or policies and/or projects.
• Coordinate with outside staffing agencies to secure temporary employees, based on departmental needs.
• Acquire knowledge of employee benefits and assist with orientation, benefits counseling, and related HRIS input.
• Maintain HR-related data in the HR information systems or databases; prepare operational reports as needed and inform individuals or internal departments of status and/or findings.
• Assist with training and development as needed.
• May perform other activities in other human resource areas as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Working Conditions:
• Working hours are what works best for student and their class schedule.
• Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.
• Complete 20 hours/week
Physical Demands:
- Regularly be able to remain in a stationary position.
- Occasionally move about inside an office and classroom.
- Operate a computer and other office/classroom equipment.
- Occasional move, transport, or position up to 10 pounds.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- My need to ascend/descend stairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be enrolled student in the Business Administration program seeking an associate degree.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
- Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the college.
