Mission & Values Statement
The Chemical Health Center offers alcohol and drug education, prevention, referral, and outpatient services for UTTC students and their dependents. UTTC Center staff value the traditions of all persons as they strive to achieve a chemical-free, healthy lifestyle.
Types of Concerns
The Chemical Health Center offers alcohol/drug education/prevention, early intervention services, evaluations (including DUI and court-ordered evaluations), outpatient treatment, and referrals for other community-based services as needed. Community support groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, are scheduled regularly. The Center hosts alcohol-drug-free activities and provides ongoing awareness and educational opportunities for students, faculty, and UTTC staff.
Our Center provides crisis intervention, emotional support, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Staff offer support for victims of any age who witness violence.
Services include, but are not limited to:
- Alcohol and drug evaluations
- Individual counseling
- Anger management
- Smoking cessation classes
- Aftercare services
- Intensive outpatient programming
- Drug and alcohol prevention and early intervention
- Prevention education video library
- Risk reduction education
- Cognitive restructuring therapy
- Drug and alcohol prevention activities
- Referrals to community clinical partners

Hello! My name is Amy WhiteShield, and I have been with UTTC since 2016. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Keiser University (FL) in 2018. My professional role is to coordinate chemical health services and provide domestic violence advocacy and victim support to UTTC students.

DaniLynn Clark, LAC
Licensed Addiction Counselor
I am a licensed addiction counselor based in Bismarck. For over 5 years, I have committed myself to addiction health. Among my core values, compassion, creativity, and adaptability guide my personal and professional interactions. Raised in Montana and Michigan, I was deeply influenced by addiction culture in our youth. After graduating from MSU-Billings, I embarked on a career of helping local youth, which influenced me to return to college and earn a degree in rehab and rehabilitation. My journey has been marked by uplifting experiences of success stories and personal growth. My personal philosophy revolves around my well-being and is the foundation for my ability to contribute meaningfully to the world. In pursuit of a balanced life, I enjoy being an artist which allows me to center myself and create. These activities reflect my belief in the ability to empower oneself. I am looking forward to helping clients feel empowered and achieve their personal goals in recovery. I look forward to meeting with you on your journey.
