I am a licensed clinical addiction counselor (LCAC) and have been working in the addiction field for over 20 years! My work experience includes working with both adults and adolescents. I not only provide addiction evaluations, individual and group counseling, but I also help involve family members in the recovery process and offer family sessions. I also have extensive experience working with individuals that are involved with the legal system, and so I understand the importance of taking a systems approach when it comes to addiction services and involving the appropriate parties in a person’s life. I incorporate therapeutic approaches that include Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to name a few. But mostly, I incorporate my understanding of Stages of Change into my daily practice. I believe in helping individuals create a personalized recovery plan, and I help guide them toward a life filled with more peace, serenity, and hope.

Christy is co-founder of C & K Counseling in Bismarck. Her founding partner, Kelsey LaBere, LPCC, and Christy believe that every individual is the expert in their own lives, and through collaborative processes, one can become a healthier and happier version of themselves. Together with Wellness staff, UTTC’s Chemical Health programming works to offer high quality behavioral health and substance abuse/addiction services to students and dependents striving to take committed steps toward positive change and healthier living.
