Position Title: Maintenance Groundskeeper I - Closes November 22,2024 at 5:00 pm.

Reports Directly to: Maintenance Transportation Supervisor
Status: Non-exempt; Full-time
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Summary of Duties:
- Upkeep of lawns, tree trimming, landscaping and maintain an aesthetically pleasing appearance of all UTTC property. This may include performing tasks such as pruning trees and cutting shrubs.
- Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, rakes, trimmers, weed whackers, trimmers, etc.
- Ensures campus is always neat and attractive.
- Mow, edge, weed trim hedges and other related tasks.
- Blow and sweep sidewalks, stairs, porches, and parking lots weekly if not daily.
- Seed and fertilize as needed.
- Ensures completion of projects in accordance with assignments given by supervisor.
- Assist with general maintenance as assigned.
- Assist with snow removal.
- Assists with changing light bulbs as needed.
- Requests supplies or materials for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensures availability of items required.
- Performs other duties as assigned, which includes a minimum of 8 hours for Special Events.
Supervisory Responsibilities: none
Working Conditions:
- Shift work is work that takes place on a schedule outside normal working hours of Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, one hour of unpaid lunch and one 20-minute break.
- Shifts may be early morning, late morning, evening, night shifts, and rotating shifts.
- Additional hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
- Must be able to stand or bend for hours at a time; and
- Must be competent with grounds keeping tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of tools and equipment to perform duties.
- Must be able to work well with others.
