Kara Four Bear (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe)
Kara Four Bear is UTTC’s September 2019 “Alum in the Spotlight”. Kara (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe) earned her AAS degree at UTTC in Elementary Education in 2009 and graduated with a BS degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Special Education in 2011.
Kara graduated with her Master’s degree in 2015 and continues her studies in Education Leadership.
Kara is currently the Principal at New Town Middle School in New Town, ND. In August 2019, the New Town Middle School Teaching Team, led by Principal Kara Four Bear, was awarded the Building Leadership Award at the ND Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education for redesigning the educational experience, integrating technology and engaging their community, including implementing a National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center curriculum.
Kara’s advice to current UTTC students is, “Don’t hesitate to be persistent. If you don’t know ask; if they don’t know, find someone who does. Everyone at UTTC is there to help you along the way.”
