Position Title: Retention Administrative Apprentice- Closes September 30, 2025 at 5:00 PM

Reports Directly to: Student Activities & Retention Coordinator
Status: Non-exempt; Full-time
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Summary of Duties:
• Assist the Student Activities & Retention Coordinator with the planning, implementation, and execution of student events and retention initiatives.
• Support event setup and take-down, including room arrangement, materials preparation, and cleanup following student activities and programs.
• Maintain routine cleanliness and organization of the Student Center and JBC Computer Lab, including resetting spaces after student use and events.
• Organize and file student activities-related forms and documentation, both electronically and physically.
• Record and maintain data related to student participation, event attendance, and program tracking.
• Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
• Greet visitors or callers and handle their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate people according to their needs.
• Create, maintain, and enter information into databases.
• Operate office equipment such as printers, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions.
• Make copies of correspondence or other printed material. Disburse promotional material, or other information.
• Set up and manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents, such as attendance records, correspondence, or other material.
• Operate electronic mail systems and coordinate the flow of information, internally or with other organizations.
• Maintain scheduling and event calendars.
• Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence, or reports.
• Order and dispense supplies.
• Complete forms in accordance with UTTC procedures.
• Arrange conference, meeting, or travel reservations for office personnel.
• Manage projects or contribute to committees.
• Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the college.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Working Conditions:
- Working hours are what works best for the student and their class schedule.
- Normal working hours for UTTC are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Complete at least 10 hours per week.
- May complete up to 30 hours per week during holiday/spring and summer break, if available.
Physical Demands:
• Regularly be able to remain in a stationary position.
• Occasionally move about inside an office and classroom.
• Operate a computer and other office/classroom equipment.
• Occasionally move, transport, or position up to 10 pounds.
• May need to ascend/descend stairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be an enrolled student in the Business Administration or General Studies program.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
