Reports Directly to: TJES Principal
Status: Exempt; Full-time
Salary: $47,536.00
Summary of Duties:
• Greets children, parents, and staff in a friendly manner and maintains a good working relationship with parents.
• Maintains a positive and constant interaction with children.
• Implements the selected Pre-K curriculum.
• Plans developmentally appropriate activities for the children regarding their interests, pace, and style of learning and includes materials and experiences in the classroom that fosters children’s development and progress.
• Prepares and conducts creative daily experiences for the children based upon the goals of Pre-K curriculum.
• Assists children in a caring, nurturing manner with activities that are appropriate to their age and development using a variety of creative materials.
• Responsible for weekly lesson plans.
• Participates in the ongoing assessment of children’s development and progress and maintains a progress reporting system under the direction of the center director.
• Help children develop good cleaning habits, i.e. picking up after themselves and teaches children personal hygiene appropriate for their age and development.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, training sessions and planning activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: • The supervision of young children in their care.
Working Conditions:
• Normal working hours are from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.
Physical Demands:
• Will need to be able to bend, stoop and lift.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
• ND Teaching Certificate B-3.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Must be punctual and dependable, must be motivated and energetic.
• The ability to always make good rational decisions regarding the safety of children.
• The ability to work collaboratively with TJES staff.
• The ability to develop a trusting relationship with the families of the children.
